Laval (St. Vincent)
La Chine (Lachine)--La Chine translate into "China" in English, as settlers thought they were on route to Asia and named the area Sains-Anges-de-la-Chine in 1678.

Cartographic Depot

I'm always coming across interesting maps, neat map ideas, and even design concepts that are fresh and unique in the world of cartography. It's about time I start keeping track of everything! Here is my cartography depot of ideas, a place for me to store useful or interesting images I come across online.

I will try to cite everything I post, however, I have files scattered everywhere on my computer which I cannot remember where they are from. (If you do, please feel free to leave the original source in the comments so I can give credit where due). Please note that most of the maps posted here are not mine. The purpose of this blog is to be able to browse maps and mapping ideas from anywhere and everywhere, as a one-stop go to resource site. I encourage you to browse by Topic (above) as chronology serves no purpose.

I will try to keep my posts as short as possibly, as this blog is not meant for analysis. It is merely for my personal storage and a way for me to share visualisations I find interesting.
